Region notes
- Tokyo / Kanto: Jan–Feb cheapest + clearest Fuji views; late Mar–early Apr and Nov foliage weekends price up.
- Kyoto / Kansai: Sakura and late-Nov foliage double hotel rates; June and winter are the value windows.
- Hokkaido: Feb Snow Festival and Jul–Aug escape season spike prices; May–Jun and Sep–Oct are ideal.
- Tohoku: Late-April sakura at normal prices; Aug Nebuta week books out Aomori.
- Kyushu / Fukuoka: Mild winters make it the best cold-month region; typhoon watch Aug–Sep.
- Okinawa & islands: Sea swimmable Apr–Nov; Jul–Aug = peak price + typhoon roulette; late Oct–Nov underrated.
