Region notes
- Manila & Luzon: Dry, cooler Dec–Feb; Mar–May turns hot before rains start; typhoons peak Jul–Oct.
- Palawan (El Nido, Coron): Nov–May is the dry window; some island-hopping boats suspend in Jul–Sep bad weather.
- Cebu & Bohol: Typhoon exposure lower than Luzon but still real Jun–Oct; Jan–Mar most reliable.
- Boracay: Peak season (and peak price) Nov–Apr; Jun–Sep rainy but far cheaper and less crowded.
- Siargao & Mindanao: Best surf and weather Mar–Oct; Aug–Sep swell season also brings storm risk.
Weeks worth avoiding
- Holy Week (late March/April, movable): Domestic travel spikes nationwide; inter-island ferries and flights book out.
- Christmas–New Year (Dec 20–Jan 2): Highest flight and hotel prices of the year, especially Manila-to-island routes.
- Peak typhoon window (Aug–Sep): Highest chance of cancelled ferries and flight delays, especially Luzon and Visayas.
